Margo Palmer is a Dallas native who began her art training as a girl in summer workshops. So when she went off to the University of Arkansas she majored in art with design/commercial arts concentration.

In Dallas, Margo started the Craft Guild Gallery in the West End  and worked at an art gallery. Wishing to be more involved in the process, she started art classes at area colleges, including Southern Methodist University.  She was chosen to participate in a member show at D-Art Gallery and later her work was shown at S.M.U. in a retrospective of student printmaking work.

Margo and her family spent their summers in San Diego for 20 years before deciding to move there.  The striking beauty of the area has always inspired her.  She has been influenced by the California plein air painters of old and present.  She has studied with master painters Pat Kelly, Jeff Watts and Calvin Liang in California and Kay Polk in Dallas.  She was included in a show at Robert Wright Gallery in Escondido, Ca.  Margo was chosen to participate in a juried show for the Ramona Art Guild.  In 2010 she won the “People’s Choice” award & “Juror’s Choice” awards at the San Diego Art Institute. She was included in the 2012 San Diego Hospice juried show and was accepted to the fine art show at the San Diego County Fair in 2012 and 2013 earning Honorable Mention and Donated awards.
